1. Don't turn and run.
2. Stand still with hands at your sides.
3. Don't put your hands out.
4. Don't scream.
5. Back away slowly when the dog loses interest, watching the dog until it is out of sight.
6. Watch the dog at all times, but don't stare. Avoid eye contact.
