Regular brushing is important for house dogs because of the artificial light, they shed continuously. Brushing will remove dirt and loose hair and will leave your dog with a healthy coat and skin. You should brush or comb your canine everyday, but for most pet owners that is impossible. So if you can brush or comb your dog a couple times a week that will be adequate. Breeds like the Shih Tzu, or dogs with fur that tangles or mats should be brushed daily.
